Netflix and Reel Reviews
Some of you might recall my post about being turned down twice as an affiliate for Netflix. I had an interesting mix of comments, some supportive others that thought I was too harsh on Netflix. My main contention was that the reasons given for turning me down, both times, did not apply. (Harsh language, offensive religious content etc. - read the post if you are curious.) Not long ago I was sitting in front of my computer with nothing to do and decided to go ahead and email them to see why I had been turned down. After about a week I heard back, and sure enough I was turned down for a reason not stated in the email. Because of an answer I had given regarding downloads - we serve podcasts here - I was automatically rejected. Makes sense, I understand the kinds of sites they are trying to avoid, I just wish they would have sent an email to that effect rather then the scary one about offensive language etc. I still stand by my belief they could have done a better job communicating originally. However, the second time around they were great at communication; they took the time to explain it all and actually apologized for the inconvenience. I really appreciate that. They also approved Reel Reviews as an affiliate.

Maybe you should take some advise from Michael Jackson and Start by looking at the Man in the Mirror!!!!! You say “could have done a better job communicating originally”. Well I put to you that you where much worse in your communication! You had the opportunity to email them at the time (which they in fact invited you to do if you thought they were wrong) and twice you ignored it.
So in conclusion, I feel like its another case that proves my point that before you blog whinge about something, at least follow the “support” options the company has in place.
Best of luck with your Affiliation.
