I will certainly be picking this one up. Kubrick is my favorite director of all time. Thanks for the info Mike.

Can a Cinephile Series of Barry Lyndon be in the future? How about A Clockwork Orange?

Nick, I think you really enjoy it. I spent a few hours with the book last night – it is simply amazing.

I like my copy as well. Great pictures and some interesting essays.

Only complaints are that the heavy book would be a lot easier to handle as two separate volumes. The two sections of the book would easily fit in that format. That and I don’t like it when pictures go across two pages … a no-no in my (ahem) book.

Chicago just got down with a Kubrick showing. I was able to see The Killing, Strangelove, Lolita and Paths of Glory while in town. Big crowd for The Killing. I guess many want the chance to see that on the big screen.

I have to agree, this thing is a monster. I thought of taking a picture from the side, as the pictures above give no real sense of the actual size of the book.

I’d love to see some of Kubrick’s earlier word on the big screen. I had never checked to make sure, but as it turns out I have all 12 Kubrick films featured in the book on DVD. I feel a 12 days of Kubrick festival coming on.
