Forget Netflix. Greencine is much better. They actually seem to care about movies, host screenings of rare films in SF, and have a great blog.

A reply for Charlie (post 1). I have been using ScreenSelect in the UK for four months now. I think they are the biggest in the UK, and the deal seems as good as any (much better than Amazon in the UK). They have a huge list of obscure movies and actually supply them, rather than just listing them. As a fan of Japanese movies I can't fault them. They are not great at supplying new release mainstream DVDs, but new foreign films come pretty quickly. I have not used any other online rental system, so cannot compare.

same here. Well, I've been with NetFlix for a couple of years. But my queue's doubled in size since I started listening to Reel Reviews. Surprising they don't see a connecton.

Hi,

It's because of your site (and Netflix Freak shareware) that I've signed up with Netflix.

I've specifically put movies in my Queue because of your reviews.

Why not try <a href="http://www.blockbuster.com/corporate/displayAffiliates.action;jsessionid=CjZYQG23lioExHBgkx80Hiwb7Mo1bTmg620hYxRDogPcrH0JQKlL!1266370322">Blockbuster's program</a>?

I switched from NetFlix last summer and have been just as pleased with Blockbuster despite their slightly less selection of obscure films. They might be a bit hungrier for affiliates, as well.

Those morons.
I think it's more to do with people not getting what Podcasting is about. I was going to help out by boycotting Netflix, but it's not available in the UK.
If I can, I'd like to ask here if there are any UK listeners who can recommend an online DVD service here.
And Michael, what about Amazon. They do a DVD rental scheme. Maybe they will hook you up?
