<description>I'm reely sorry Michael, for thar really pissy post. You did disclaim your mistake with the title of Conrad's novel.
I must have been tired/ and /or in a bad mood when I wrote that.
Again, sorry- and keep on keeping on.
Nobody else is doing what you're doing.
Have you thought about doing any reviews of documentaries, or have I missed them?

<description>Floyd, he has had a disclaimer about the Heart(s) of Darkness thing since day one. As for USC, I never heard him say Coppola went to USC. He talked about people at USC Film School and then about Coppola having them over to his offices.

<description>I feel the need to point out that Apocalypse Now! was inspired by Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" , not "Hearts of Darkness".
Also, Francis Ford Coppola went to UCLA, not USC. George Lucas went to USC.

You want to be an authority, and speak with an air of authority, but when you miss important and even obvious facts such as these it makes one deliberate whether or not you are worth listening to.
Step it up.</description>

		<description>Hello Michael,

I am a fan of your show; I have to thank Michael Butler for pointing me to your show.
I am a huge fan of The rock and roll geek show as well. I have been listening to your shows and they are fantastic. I am from Melbourne, Australia, so it was cool to hear you review Chopper.

After listening to Apocalypse Now I was blown away. I have seen the movie many times and redux. But that show was a masterpiece, I really mean that. It was the best 36 minutes or so of radio I have heard in ages. The show flowed so well and the facts you rolled out and the small details that form a Great show. Is it true Martin Sheen was paid in coke during shooting? He had a heart attack during filming. There are so many stories from the making of that movie, it makes interesting listening.

I will put your Apocalypse Now show on a cd and play it at a friends house, he will love the show. He is a huge movie fan also.

Well done Michael, keep up the good work.

Regards,
Tim

<description>I enjoyed your comments on apocalypse now. I echo your thoughts on Redux being basically a technically interesting thing for apocalypsephiles.

One thing that I always found strange on Redux was that in hearts of darkness, I remember Coppola absolutely hating the French plantation scene. (I can remember him saying something like "cut! cut!, this never happened!). It struck me as ironic seeing it turn up in Redux, I actually felt kind of disappointed, as if Coppola was selling out by including a scene that he hated for a little financial gain.
