Hey, I really enjoyed this review. As much as I love Leone movies, I’ve never seen this one. I really need to. I just watched Rodriguez’ ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO the other day and I’d be curious on your thoughts of that one in relation to this. I know that Tarantino was egging RR on to make this movie, as filling the same place in his body of work as this did for Leone. His goal was to make an epic, which I think he failed at, but it was still an entertaining movie. He didn’t learn the lessons you talk about, holding the long shots and not being in such a hurry to rush the action forward. My vote is that you do an episode on Rodriguez sometime in the near future.
Dave thanks for the comments. I enjoyed Once Upon A Time In Mexico. Depp gave a good performance I thought. I would classify OUATIM as a fun film - I enjoyed it enough to watch it twice in pretty quick succession. You’re right
Great review of one of my top 10 films. I originally saw this in film school in the late

Just noticed that Leone’s, “Duck, You Sucker!”, is on the rotation for HDNET Movies this week. The bummer is that it is only on during the day when I am at work. Will have to deal with a 480p version on my ReplayTV. HD would be awesome for this classic.
